After receiving a call from a Good Samaritan, rescuers at Stray Rescue of St. Louis rescued a tiny puppy who had been abandoned.
The concerned caller informed them that the dog was hiding among a junk pile where many neighbors dump their trash and unwanted belongings.
Someone evil thought this puppy belonged there.
“Chowder” had wounds on his face, which rescuers noticed. “He’s just a tiny puppy!” His eyes are swollen, and he has wounds on his face. “Despite everything, he is so happy,” Stray Rescue wrote on Facebook. “He is now safe.”
Chowder wagged his tail and let Donna pick him up when she approached. The Good Samaritan informed them that there are people in the neighborhood who are involved “with Pitbulls,” which translates to dog fighting. Chowder was most likely used as a bait dog and was bitten by a large dog.
He buried his head in one of their shoulders with relief the moment they got Chowder in the car.
“On his freedom ride, he just buried his face in our arms,” they wrote. “The thought of anyone mistreating him makes us cry.” This angel requires our assistance. We are extremely grateful to the callers who took action.”
One of Stray Rescue’s supporters commented on the touching photo, saying, “It’s like he’s passing his weight of pain on to the shoulders of someone who will heal him!” Oh my goodness!”
Chowder is now living a happy life. He’ll be looking for his forever home once he’s been “fixed up.”
